Green Snake

Judee called me around 3pm yesterday, jittery over a green snake. She saw it near her picture frame, while chatting w/ her sister over the net. I was frightened and wondering why the hell it happened since we live in a condominium. We’re on the 7th floor, they live on the 10th floor. She was trying to call the staff but nobody’s answering the phone, they were outside the building, because of the pest control, so she went down stairs still nervous. Four staff came to get the snake.

We immediately researched what a green snake can do. The snake measures around 12 inches long with slightly black or blue stripes. The body is thin.

We wonder how the snake got into their room. It’s good that she saw it or else she wouldn’t think that it’s possible to have a snake around her place. She has a child, and that makes us more paranoid.

That was a shocking experience

Daddy's Girl

I had a dream last night about my dad. It was kinda real that when I woke up this morning, I thought he was here beside me. We were chatting about my life. I can still feel his embrace and I can still recall our conversation. Probably, he was visiting my family. He’s been with the Lord for more than 9 years. I wish he had seen me/us when I graduated from College and had a great job and got married, when my siblings needed a father figure, when my mom needed a hug and a kiss, or just be there for each other. It was an emotional roller-coaster ride, but our lives have changed tremendously after his death. I have no qualms with the Lord nor did I question him why he took my dad at the age of 40. For I believe that everything happens for a reason, a season under the heaven.

That’s the main reason why my mom and I cried when I walked down the aisle. We were both thinking about dad. Mom said that when dad was alive he was telling her that in a few years my eldest daughter will soon find the perfect match, he wants to escort me on that very special milestone in my life. I promise that I will play the song “Butterfly Kisses” when I get married, and my parents will walk me down the aisle. But when the big day came, it was only my mom who led me. Surely, dad was there in spirit.

Every time I dreamt of my dad, I remember the song “Butterfly Kisses” so I would like to share the lyrics with you. I just love the song so much. I want to share it with my baby when he/she grows up. I dedicate the song to my dad.

I’m a bit nostalgic tonight.

There's two things I know for sure:
She was sent here from heaven and she's
daddy's little girl.
As I drop to my knees by her bed at night
She talks to Jesus and I close my eyes and
I thank god for all the joy in my life
Oh, but most of all
For butterfly kisses after bedtime prayer;
sticking little white flowers all up in her
hair; "Walk beside the pony, Daddy, it's my first ride."
"I know the cake looks funny, Daddy, but I sure tried."
In all that I've done wrong I know I must
have done something right to deserve a hug
every morning and butterfly kisses at night.

Sweet 16 today
She's looking like her mama a little more everyday
One part woman, the other part girl.
To perfume and make-up from ribbons and curls
Trying her wings out in a great big world.

But I remember
Butterfly kisses after bedtime prayer; sticking
little white flowers all up in her hair.
"You know how much I love you, Daddy, But if you
don't mind I'm only gonna kiss you on the cheek this time."
With all that I've done wrong I must have done
something right to deserve her love every morning
and butterfly kisses at night.

All the precious time
Like the wind, the years go by.
Precious butterfly.
Spread your wings and fly.

She'll change her name today.
She'll make a promise and I'll give her away.
Standing in the bride-room just staring at her.
She asked me what I'm thinking and I said "I'm not
sure-I just feel like I'm losing my baby girl."
She leaned over…gave me butterfly kisses with her mama there,
Sticking little white flowers all up in her hair
"Walk me down the aisle, Daddy-it's just about time."
"Does my wedding gown look pretty, Daddy? Daddy, don't cry!"

Oh, with all that I've done wrong I must have
done something right.
To deserve your love every morning and butterfly
kisses-I couldn't ask God for more, man this is what love is.

I know I gotta let her go, but I'll always remember
every hug in the morning and butterfly kisses.

Bringing back Memories

Hubby and I were reminiscing about his past love life the other night. I was teasing him about ACJ and the girl from J. It’s kinda odd to discuss it, yet, it’s funny how open we are to each other. We’ve discussed it a couple of times before, but I just love hearing it over and over again. I remember telling him about my favorite quote from Meet Joe Black.

Of course, we were discussing about our love life, how me met, and his first impressions when he fetched me at AIM in Makati, I nonchalantly smiled when I saw him and headed to Tagaytay where we had our first date. I just love watching how he eats, it was his first time to try “Kilawin na Tanigue” and he loved it! We were both actively dating that time and at some point, he thinks that he would just go back to the States without a girlfriend. Few days before Christmas when we went out again and had dinner at “Cloud Nine in Antipolo” we decided that we both want to give it a try, but the date was not ideal for us since #8 is our favorite number. So we decided to be boyfriend and girlfriend on Jan. 8, 2001. Hilarious isn’t it? Perfect place + Perfect time = idyllic in Cloud Nine. Yippee! I never thought that we’ll end up together.

After having this chat,we slept around between 2 and 3 am. Baby (inside my womb) was sleeping or probably enjoying how his/her parents first met.

About last night

After watching Sex & the City (season 6) and Mysterious Ways, hubby and I went to bed, and he read a story to our baby who turns 23 weeks inside my womb. Our baby seems to communicate with us last night. He/she was squirming, doing some acrobats and enjoying our talks. It was his/her strongest flutter last night. Usually, he/she is awake late in the evening, but now, I can feel him/her move late in the afternoon until late in the evening. It was a great feeling that a new life is growing in my womb. Certainly, a miracle of life and I love every little thing that comes from it.

On Monday next week, we'll be going to our ob for a routine check-up, I'll be 24 weeks by then. We're not sure if he will perform another ultrasound but we would like to have one. By October I will be having my 4d ultrasound around 28 weeks.

Watch out for my baby's update!

A Rendezvous of 10 Sisterettes

9 sassy wifey + 1 fabulous bachelorette = 10 fun-loving sisterrettes in Bangkok

We met in Bangkok more than 2 years ago. Without the shilly-shally thingies we became acquaintance right from the start. We share the same interests. It was nice knowing them. The Nantiruj Sisterettes would regularly meet for an afternoon mirth and Brenda would bond with us even though she lives far from our place. Sometimes, we would schedule a get together with the Somerset Sisterettes and do some shopping at the nearest tiangge. Our first get-together was last Dec. 2003 at Hard Rock Cafe. In a way it was a kind of testing the waters. And yeah, it was a hit! From then on, we would always invite each other for birthday celebrations or simply to hang out. There were no dull moments with us, often times we'll end up past midnight when all are jaded.

Four sisterettes are now in Manila. But we keep in touch thru our e-group. Lenie has 2 kiddos (1 girl and 1 boy), Odess has one, Princess is TTC. Brenda will give birth anytime soon.

6 sisterettes still in Bangkok. Agnes will be flying back to Manila with her hubby, she will soon tie the knot. I'm 23wks pregnant, Nila and Judee both have 1 kid. May has 2 sons and our very own Agnes, the only diva in the group.

Nila's place and Somerset are our favorite rendezvous point.

I love that you get a little crinkle in your nose when you're looking at me like I'm nuts. I love that after I spend day with you, I can still smell your perfume on my clothes. After all these years

What is a friend? A friend is someone who will be there for you, no matter what, she/he will be willing to lend a helping hand, she/he will be there in good times and in bad times. These are the kinds of friends that I have now. We’ve been friends for more than a decade. We’ve been through ups and downs in life and manage to keep in touch with each other. Life’s lessons made us strong individuals.

There are some things that I have in mind and will always treasure forever. Grace and I would always go to the gym together and we’ll go out on a date together. And the next day, I always ask her what she thinks of that guy, and she will always reminds me to opt for someone really nice. Sometimes, I’m perplexed and would always ask her to join me in my date. She is such a nice person. Same thing goes with Candee (Edhee). I just love this woman, she was there when I failed in a relationship and encouraged me to move on, I would always go to their house and chat with her, at all times we end up with a bottle of beer.

I remember the time I was heartbroken and they stood up for me, and I stood up for them. We will often go to Padis Point, Tia Maria’s or somewhere in Malate or Makati, and drink till we drop. They listened to my unending story and frequently asked them what did I do wrong to deserve such a thing? They’ll just look up and tell me “you deserve more and you’ll find what you’re looking for”.

How time flies so fast, most of us are married, only one left unmarried and she’s now living her life in the States. It’s good that we keep in touch and often chat. I’m glad we stay as friends, although we’re apart. Grace is happily married with 2 girls, Candee is happily married too with 3 boys. Jasmin and May are both single.

I have so many memories with them. I will always value our friendship until the end of time.

If you have a Dream

When people let you down
And they push you around
And you feel you have had enough
Don't give up -- you have got to be tough!
I know how you feel
You are hurting still I used to feel that way
But I put those thoughts away.
Don't let yourself down
Don't let people push you around
You have to be strong
And forget 'cause life carries on.
I know it will take some time
But your time will come to shine
Just have faith in all you do
And you will make it through.
Do what you want to do
Don't care about what people tell you
Don't take anything from them
Just go through life without them.
Believe in yourself...
Have faith in yourself...
Care about yourself...
But most of all, love yourself!

Enough of junk foods such as Aussie Fries, Bushmanshrooms, Ice Cream, Chips and also enough of White Rice, Steak, etc. The doctor said I have to watch my weight or else I might be having a hard time giving birth. I’m trying not to eat too much. I will try to improve my diet or perhaps I will try to cut back on those junk foods and pizza deliveries.

I’m 22 weeks pregnant this coming Tuesday and in two weeks' time we will be able to see our baby through ultrasound, hopefully, we’ll confirm our baby’s gender. It’s ok for us if it’s a boy or a girl since he/she is our first baby, as long as he/she is healthy and normal.

Good Friday, Good News!

Hubby talked to his boss about his contract extension, luckily, we'll be here until November, Thank God! I thought we’re leaving first week of October. Apparently, there’s a new project that the management is trying to work out with their existing client, under management consultancy. I wish things would be ok and the 2 months extension will be 2 or 3 years more. Hehehe….

We said our prayers and do some budgeting for the next two months.
This is indeed a Gooood Friday for us.

When I failed in relationships, I asked myself what went wrong. There were times when it seems nothing was wrong. Sometimes love just naturally fades away and this happens to people who are simply not meant for each other. I know it is difficult to comprehend why relationships suddenly take unexpected turns. But such things happen. People we treasure go away for a reason. Sometimes we have to stop asking why and just accept it. We should stop being bitter and just be thankful that for once, we have loved and shared our life with that person and made beautiful memories together. That acceptance will give us the courage to move on and make us realize that when God takes away something from us, he has a better plan for us. Although I have only been around for what some may consider just a short amount of time, I feel as though life's lessons so far have given me wisdom far beyond my age. While my life for the most part has been full of light, I've definitely had my share of darkness. I do not, however, regret one tear I've shed, one heartache I've experienced, or even one night I've spent in emotional distress. For these have been the most influential events in shaping my life and teaching me some of life's most valuable lessons. I realized that the laughter I had served as sunshine to a seedling, just as the tears I shed served as the rain. The love that I share is the food that makes the seed grow and flourish.

Baby at 20 weeks

We requested to have an ultrasound to check our baby and to confirm his/her gender. It was nice to see our baby move her/his legs, he/she seems to interact with us. The doctor said she/he is healthy. GA and EFW= 317 grams. The amount of amniotic fluid was normal. A female genitalia was noted with an 80% certainty. Probably by our next visit we will know for sure our baby's gender. We got some baby stuff from my mother in-law when she went to United States for a vacation.
